Have a great business idea, but don't have any money? Learn ways to start a business...without billions.

Everyone gets great ideas, but some don’t have any money to get these fantastic concepts off the ground. Why let a good business plan go to waste simply for lack of funds? There are ways to start a business even without having billions (or hundreds) in the bank. In fact, all that’s really needed is that one well-thought-out idea. There are always other people - investors - who have lots of money but no great ideas. The marriage of the two is how big business is born.

Start a Business

Have an inspiring business idea, something that really could work? That’s great, but coming up with the idea is actually the easiest part of starting a home-based (or any other type of) business. Business doesn’t begin even on wonderful ideas alone. The simplest and cheapest concepts of all still need that one extra element to get things started: money. The trouble is, no one has enough, and most definitely don’t have enough to invest in a business idea that, at the end of the day, may not work after all. Remember this: no matter how great the idea, there is always the possibility of failure. Too, there is always the possibility of success. That’s what makes starting a business exciting.

Don’t Have Any Money?

Don’t have any money? It might seem like business ideas are dead before they even begin when there’s no means with which to finances that fabulous business plan…but this doesn’t have to be the case. Sit down with a pen and paper. Really start to delve into the business idea, to think about what it will take to make that plan a reality. Write down all the items that will be needed, whether it be office space, a new computer, whatever it is. Now comes the fun part: researching cost. Once the plan is outlined and the needed materials are all printed out very clearly, it’s time to start doing a little pricing. How much will all of these items cost? Get a rough estimate on every item and then add it all up. Now add a few thousand extra (unforeseen expenses). This is what it’ll take to get that great business idea off the ground.

Depressing, right? But even for those who don’t have any money to put into their dreams, it doesn’t have to be a sad affair. Because (here’s the good news) anyone can always find an investor, a venture capitalist, someone who will be willing to finance these efforts. What does it take to convince these moguls one business idea shines out above all others? Great planning, serious thought and a well-laid plan. Figure out costs, figure out what customers the business appeals to and really flesh out a serious business plan. Sell an investor on this idea, and voila! Business is born.
